Sometimes stars get it right, and sometimes they need another celeb to step in and show ‘em how it’s done. Here’s a look at the latest celeb fashion hits and misses, from Bar Refaeli’s tacky jumpsuit and Lacey Schwimmer’s denim daze to Alexa Chung doing farm girl fab and Karolina Kurkova in exotic leather.
Trend #1: Overalls

Miss: Celebs have been loving jumpsuits this season—and who can blame them? We all remember the comfort and ease of childhood onesies, and most stars pull off glam grown-up versions. But there were a few things wrong with the Emilio Pucci jumpsuit that Bar Refaeli wore to the premiere of Carnage at the Venice Film Festival. The low-cut black lace number got caught somewhere between classy overalls and tacky cocktail waitress.
Hit: That’s not to say that overalls can’t be chic; the deep V and slim lines on Alexa Chung’s dungarees make them more sexy uptown than Tom Sawyer. Her on-trend sheer blouse and platform wooden wedges dress up the dark denim while her bright jacket adds a pop of color. Didn’t think it was possible, but Chung makes overalls look farm girl fab.
Trend #2: Embellished Crop Top

Miss: Dancing With the Stars dancer Lacey Schwimmer might be able to do turns around most on the dance floor, but she wouldn’t turn heads in this denim daze. Her oversized studded crop top looks sloppy, especially when doubled up with her dated low-rise and distressed jeans.
Hit: Vanessa Hudgens’ has put together some slapdash combos lately, but the boho look she was spotted in while leaving a restaurant in LA was hippy-chic. Her dusty peach crop top with black fringe showed off her figure but was balanced by her roomy maxi skirt. The layered necklaces, shades and cropped ‘do give her look undeniable cool girl cred.
Trend #3: Leather Pants
