NYFW Twitter Update: Valentino Sings Karaoke and 140 Character Runway Reviews

What else but NYFW would fashionistas bother to tweet about this week? We’ve rounded up reactions and opinions—but mostly gushes—from Kim Hastreiter, Bryan Boy, Adam Glassman, and other fashion insiders.

Giovanna Battaglia posted a pic of Valentino doing karaoke (above) at Carine Roitfeld’s soirée. The designer channeled Sinatra and did a rendition of “I Did it My Way.”

Prabal Gurung drew raves from Adam Glassman, creative director of O Magazine, who tweeted “@prabalgurung mazel tov my friend. Gorgeous collection!” Nicholas Mellamphy, creative director of The Room at The Hudson’s Bay Co., echoed his applause. “Loving the Print at @prabalgurung and those Finale Gowns… Wowza! Yay Prabal! Can’t wait to work the collection in the showroom.”

Paper Magazine editor Kim Hastreiter was feeling the bright colors of S/S 2012. “Gagging for Alexander wangs dayglo orange shirt. Want,” she tweeted.

Leandra Medine, a.k.a. The Man Repellertook note of a trend-to-be: “Have so far seen wet/greasy hair at four shows today. Showering is so 2011.”  Could that dewy look she’s talking about have anything to do with the undertones that Bryan Boy picked up on? “A lot of designers seem to have sport references/use athletic-inspired materials like mesh, etc no?” he tweeted.

CTV’s FashionTelevision host Jeanne Beker fell for Zac Posen, calling Coco Rocha’s opening cream dress “Retro chic to the max!” “Femininity to die for… Almost an old Dior feel… divine colour and form,” she continued to gush. “Can it get more beautiful?! Zac Posen leaves me breathless….”

The tweeter for CFDA seems to think it can get more beautiful. “The layering at #RobertGeller is genius. Scientific proportions. #NYFW”

What was the NYFW climax for Jane Aldridge of Sea of Shoes? “Highlight of New York trip has to be #KellyWearstlerRTW dinner!! I think Kelly is doing the coolest things in the world, I am starstruck!!” tweeted the luckiest blogger in the universe.
