Launched in 2008 by Italian designer Massimo Giorgetti, MSGM’s golden ticket came in 2013 when the label made its debut appearance at Milan Fashion Week and opened its first standalone boutique. After racking up subsequent internship stints at Oscar de la Renta and Lanvin to teach her the tricks of the trade, Rosie Assoulin received a gentle push in the design direction from a few fashion friends, Leandra Medine of The Man Repeller and Claire Distengeld of the Upper East Side boutique Fivestory. It wasn’t until last year that she struck out on her own with an eponymous line, which has been raved and reviewed for its craftsmanship and modern elegance.
