South African retailer MRP has officially opened its first store in Australia at Melbourne central yesterday, October 21, with help from ambassador Henry Holland and the face of the company’s summer collection, Poppy Delevingne.

The internationally recognised model and designer were the main attraction at the new 1000m² space, joined by fashion’s cool kids like Aisha Jade McKinnon, Zanita Whittington, the How Two Live sisters, Ksenija Lukich and more.

Poppy believes that MRP is the perfect fit for Australia, with its first store stocked with clothing, accessories, footwear and sleepwear for ladies, men and kids. She told Sydney Confidential, “MRP offer a fun retail experience and that’s the way the Aussies are. They are so fashionable, and on-trend.”

Although MRP is new to Aussie market, the company’s CEO, Stuart Bird, is already considering expansion. “While initially we will focus on our MRP apparel stores, there is potential to follow with our mrpHome and mrpSport divisions,” he said in a press release earlier this year.

Hopefully an MRP store in all the other major cities will follow soon, so we can all get a piece of the affordable action.
