We’re not exactly sure how it happened, but somehow the amfAR galas have become associated with sheer gowns as opposed to the charitable cause that drives them. That was definitely the case at this year’s Cannes gathering with a bevy of models seemingly trying to one-up each other in the see-through department. In addition to peekaboo elements, many stars flocked to feathers in all shades of the rainbow. Quite a few attendees opted for dark, almost gothic gowns and there were even a few who made a statement in striking pants ensembles.
