Q: Where do you live?
A: Auckland, New Zealand. I’ve lived in New Zealand my whole life, in the capital of Wellington, in Northland with it’s beautiful Beaches, and in Wairarapa where not much happens that is worth talking about… except the first transsexual mayor in the world is there.
Q: What is your occupation?
A: During the day i manage a designer resale clothing store and website (www.doublexposure.co.nz) which keeps me out of trouble, plus I get to play with clothes all day and see some fantastic things.
I also co-manage supertalk, the forums on www.superfuture.com, which is a global shopping and travel site. I trained as an actor and do some acting from time to time.
Q: How old are you?
A: 35
Q: Describe your style.
A: My style is influenced by my taste in music and movies. Dark and perhaps a little heavy from time to time, although I like a reasonably feminine silhouette. I have stripped my wardrobe of almost all colour in the last year or so, working towards something greyscale to emphasize the shape over everything else. Mostly I wear basics and my big spends are always boots and shoes. I am a little too rough and that’s why I can’t have nice things.
Q: Who are your favorite designers?
A: For a beautiful aesthetic, I like Helmut Lang. Maison Martin Margiela for the incredible intellectual bent. New Zealand label Nom *d for incorporating subcultural elements so seamlessly into a fashion world that often misses the mark when it come to this.
Costume National for the leather treatments on shoes and boots. Ann Demuelemeester makes the most incredible shoes and boots. Junya Watanabe for his reinterpretations of western cultural garb.
