I like to think of fringe every time I hear the term "swinging 60s" and if you haven't put on a fringed garment yet, you should. It just feels fun, flirty, and sexy all at the same time. And it emphasizes the oh-so seductive movements women have at their disposal. You can go for beaded fringe, which can be pricey, or buy fabric fringe at the store and carefully attach it to a basic cotton pencil skirt. We won't tell.

Applique is a technique that involves laying two different textiles on top of one another then fusing and/or sewing them together, essentially. There are different ways to do it, but the effect is always the same. A focal point that makes the piece stand out from the crowd.
