October has barely begun, but if you’re wise, you’re already planning
what you’re going to wear for Halloween . You definitely don’t want to be running to a costume shop last minute and buying whatever is left in stock (that’s when you get stuck with a boring witch or slutty nurse costume). Luckily, Pinterest and
global fashion search platform Lyst have once again teamed up to give us an inside look at what costumes will be trending this year. After crunching all the data, the dynamic duo has compiled a top 10 list so you can stay ahead of the costume curve.
Check out all the Halloween costumes for women you’ll be seeing everywhere.

2018 Pinterest Top 10 Halloween Costumes
10. Cow
Believe it or not, bovine-inspired fashion has spiked according to Lyst with cow print T-shirts, trousers and jackets up a combined 138 percent in just the last month. (We’re assuming cow wasn’t on your list of animal print pieces to pick up.) But if you buy a cow patterned coat , you will at least get some wear out of it straight through winter, especially if it’s suede.
9. Frida Kahlo
A true classic, the artist is once again providing ample inspiration, just not via her paintings. Floral crowns were popular on runways and magazine covers this year (think Rihanna ’s British Vogue appearance) and Frida Kahlo had a major exhibition at London’s V&A gallery this summer — all fueling the desire for this artsy costume with Pinterest seeing searches go up 55 percent. Show some restraint regarding the eyebrows, though.

Attention all makeup lovers : this is your year to shine. All things celestial are proving popular with searches up 33 percent year over year on Pinterest. And Lyst is reporting an uptick in searches for zodiac and constellation jewelry. Make your makeup the star by going sparkle heavy and add in a starry dress and maybe some wings to wrap up this enchanted look.

6. Edna Mode
While it may seem incredible (sorry, had to) that this costume is trending, this year’s release of Incredibles 2 put the mini stylist back in the spotlight. Pinterest saw a 669 percent increase in searches for Edna Mode, while heavy black glasses were clearly surging on Lyst, up 38 percent from last year. As Disney suggests, all you need is a fringed or pleated leather mini, a furry black coat, black boots and, of course, Edna’s signature glasses.

5. Flamingo
This one took us by surprise, but pins saved have increased 77 percent for the pretty pink bird. And people have been busy looking for some flamingo fashion inspo on Lyst, causing searches to surge 105 percent this year. While you can probably hunt down a flamingo onesie, you can almost DIY this one by using those pink tights you bought when colored hosiery was trending and maybe a pink tutu. Plus, hot pink and millennial pink are still trending, so if you buy some pinky separates, you’ll probably find use for them long after Halloween is over.

4. Wakanda Forever
Black Panther was truly epic so it’s not surprising that months after the film hit theaters, costumes inspired by the blockbuster are expected to be huge. Pinterest searches are up 504 percent with Princess Shuri proving one of the most popular. But Nakia is a pretty badass option, too. Arm candy searches have also peaked, according to Lyst (up 14 percent since June).

1. Tonya Harding
OK, we kind of saw this coming since this is the first Halloween since I, Tonya made the award show run (sometimes Tonya Harding was there, too). Searches for the skater jumped a whopping 720 percent on Pinterest plus Lyst reports that skater skirts and bejeweled leotards have been trending worldwide. All you really need is a leotard (the glitzier, the better), a hair crimper, a flashy scrunchie (which you might already own given their newfound popularity ) and skates to carry over your shoulder. Bonus points if you can talk a friend into going as Nancy Kerrigan.
