We don’t have to tell you that it hasn’t felt much like spring yet. It’s hard to fantasize about sundresses and shorts when you’re still scraping ice off your car windshield in the morning. Luckily, there are spring double denim options to help us combat the season’s indecisiveness. They’ll even fit in once spring finally decides to act appropriately.
While doubling up on denim definitely seems more in line with fall and winter, you can embrace the pairings now. Just look at all the jean looks that were sent down the Spring 2022 runways. Loewe topped off a denim skirt with a matching cape. MSGM combined a crop top with slouchy jeans. Blumarine did a Y2K take by complementing a butterfly halter top with butterfly printed jeans.
When it comes to washes, obviously faded denim is totally acceptable. But you can keep your darker jean pieces in your lineup. (See Christian Dior Spring 2022.) Feel free to mix and match hues. You can even go one step further and rock triple denim. Either by design since some items are two-tone or by choice by wearing three different pieces in one outfit.

Spring Double Denim #1
Top off wide leg or baggy jeans in a darker wash with a lighter jean shirt. (Scrunch the sleeves to keep cool.) Tuck said shirt into your jeans to further flaunt the contrast. Cap things off with sandals.

Spring Double Denim #2
Don’t be afraid to pull out the darker denim this season. A cropped jacket and coordinating jeans look pretty cool combined with a cropped or bra top. White pumps perfectly punctuate the look.

Spring Double Denim #3
A denim jacket and matching miniskirt put an off-duty spin on the typical skirt suit. Layer a lightweight turtleneck underneath on colder days and complete the ensemble with striped knee-high boots. You can also swap the latter out for sandals as we get closer to summer.

Spring Double Denim #4
For a more Western-inspired take, sport a two-tone jean jacket and a slightly ruffled denim miniskirt. Skip the cowboy boots and work in neutral ankle boots instead.
-
Spring Double Denim #5
Cropped jeans go great with a cropped denim jacket. Just make sure they’re the same wash. Mule sandals FTW.
-
Spring Double Denim #6
Half tuck a denim jacket into a jean miniskirt boasting a frayed hem. Roll your sleeves and rock ankle boots to round out the outfit.
-
Spring Double Denim #7
You can also tuck your dark jean jacket into a belted pair of jean shorts in a lighter wash. If the temps are still chilly, add in a pair of knee-high boots.
-
Spring Double Denim #8
Why do double when you can go triple? Team a semi-sheer denim shirt with jeans and denim boots.
-
Spring Double Denim #9
Complete a denim bustier and jeans pairing with a denim blazer. The look works best if all three are different washes. Neon shoes make it spring-worthy.
-
Spring Double Denim #10
Balance out barely-there cutoffs with a long-sleeve shirt and a denim vest. Statement loafers are a great way to polish off the ensemble.
-
Spring Double Denim #11
Tuck a relaxed denim shirt into distressed jeans. The rips provide extra ventilation. As do toe-loop sandals.
-
Spring Double Denim #12
Break up a denim jacket and belted jeans combo with a white top. Slip on patterned pumps to finish off the outfit.

Spring Double Denim #13
Now’s a prime time to flaunt white denim. Style a crisp jean jacket and jeans with a colorful tee and stark sneakers.
